Peter 50th Birthday This event was celebrated in style with most of the Smith dynasty in Blackpool. For good measure most of the Hart dynasty came over from the States. The De Vere Hotel in Blackpool had their work cut out - there is a corner of their restaurant that is forever HartSmithed. We also celebrated Rhiannon and Tim's birthday and revisited Jane's. Trips to the Promenade, pleasure beach fun fair and the lights were mandatory. The photos are split into 3 pages ( so click away merrily!) The official photos of this milestone event celebrated at Thornbury Castle
We celebrated our 50th Birthdays with a holiday in the Seychelles - St Anne's resort on its own island in the National Park. Our villa and beach overlooked Victoria - the capital of the Seychelles on the island of Mahe.
Jamie's cousins Gareth and Tim joined us for a week on an outward bound course for the boys based in Bristol harbour - kayaking, sailing, orienteering, mountain biking, abseiling and pot-holing - no photos of the action but some of the leisure time.
We were based at the Papaguayo Arena at Playa Blanca on the southernmost tip of the island. Photos show the Timanfaya National Park (volcanic), the hotel , wine growing in the volcanic soils at La Geria, the marina at Playa Blanca, Cesar Manrique's sculptures and the various coastlines. By law , all the houses have to be less than 3 stories and painted white. We recommend the island for a visit - for such a small island it is quite diverse!
Elsie Mabel (not a relative but a boat!) Moored at Rickmansworth, this is the floating home of Pete when he works out of Cementation's Rickmansworth office. A bit cold in winter but we hope to have some floating holidays on the Grand Union Canal.
A keen sportsman loves to play football, rugby, cricket and even goalie for the school hockey team! He plays for the school Tockington and rugby with Thornbury RFC and cricket for Rockhampton. Out of school he plays judo and is the current Independent Association of Prep Schools u42 kg champion. He won his year photography prize and the photograph was entered into the Prep School competition, which he also won and had the photo put on the front cover of the magazine - first pupil to have a front cover!
Celebrated in the Thomas household in York and then out at the Chinese restaurant
